If you've ever wondered who the Smoky Mountain Medicine Women were and how they learned to tend the health emergencies of their families and neighbors, plan to attend the presentation by Dr. Gail Palmer on Thursday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Blount County Public Library.Last week, during National Archives Week, Palmer gave a presentation about the documents, records, resources and genealogical materials that she used to research her topic. Thursday evening’s program will feature the personalities, families and anecdotal information about the granny women or medicine women.
