World-Renowned Miniaturists to be at Blount County Public Library (Art Show)

Miniature art has been in existence for centuries and today there are Societies dedicated both to the genre’s preservation and promotion. Wes Siegrist, author and historian for the Miniature Artists of America, will present a lecture on this enchanting art form for the public at the Blount County Public Library at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 2. As dedicated, world-renowned ambassadors for this art form, Wes and Rachelle Siegrist, Townsend residents, are perhaps the only husband-wife team to ever successfully support themselves profitably as miniaturists.Also on November 2, the Siegrists will demonstrate this unique art from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Farragut Lions Club to Hold 4th Annual Wine TastingThe Farragut Lions Club has scheduled its 4th Annual Wine Tasting, Dinner and Auction for Thursday, Nov. 5.A wine and cheese reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at Bearden Banquet Hall. This year’s auction will include pieces of art, trips to New York and Chicago and a golfing excursion to Orlando to play at Bay Hill, the home course of Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods. Tickets for the event are $50 and proceeds will go to benefit the Lions Club’s vision assistance program. Then the program evolved to be a full-scale concert in its own at library.
